enough, the engine can come back with quite literally
hundreds of thousands of sites to choose from.
The key is to put as many keywords as possible
to narrow that number down. Some popular search
engines are Google and Ask.com.
There is also another way to search for particular
web sites. Directories are web sites that have
a listing of web pages on their site that you
can search from. Unlike a search engine, directories
do not go out on to the internet and bring back
a listing of what it found. Directories look
at a database to find a site you\'re looking
for. If the site you want has not been registered
with that particular directory, that doesn't
mean it doesn't exist. One such directory is Yahoo!. How do I get on a Search Engine? As mentioned
earlier, search engines go out and automatically
look for web sites. But the search engine may
not list your site for one reason or another.
And what about directories? The best way to assure
that you will be listed on a search engine or
directory is to register. Registering with a
search engine isn't that difficult. But there
are a lot of different engines, and directories
to be listed under which can be very time consuming.
